Under the Boss is a five-episode office triangle on Candy AI Shorts. Its two free episodes cover one working day for the new temp, Harriet. I watched both on Premium: her, the boss and his assistant, with the whole office listening in.
Episode 1: a new temp and a rearranged calendar
The assistant opens by handing her boss a document and telling him to look like he's read it. She mentions she moved his four thirty to four fifteen and says he'd be lost without her. She is also angling for dinner: the client dinner has moved, the Thursday reservation stands, and she floats the idea that the two of them could go, if he wants.
Meanwhile Harriet, new and nervous, decides the building is full of prettier people and that the boss wouldn't look twice at someone like her. He does. He asks the assistant who she is, hears she started today and says she's pretty. He greets her, Harriet fumbles a compliment about the company's work, and he says he preferred her first answer. Then he offers to go over her onboarding himself. The assistant objects with a nine o'clock meeting, an orientation and paperwork, and he brushes that aside. The episode closes with his promise to show her "where the bodies are kept."
Episode 2 of Under the Boss on Candy Shorts: hoodies and gossip
Episode 2 cuts between two rooms. In one, the boss hands Harriet company T-shirts and hoodies, the sort handed out at conferences and charity events, all unisex. She has to try them on, and he promises to be a gentleman, pointing out where the door is. In the other, the office speculates. A voice insists he's just showing her the cupboard, and colleagues trade catty jokes about how long the induction is taking.
Back inside, Harriet asks for black instead of white, because of how each looks on camera. Then she swears at her boss on her first day, notices what she did and spirals. He says he thinks it suits her. When she wonders whether he's talking about the hoodie color or her language, he settles it with "Both, actually." The episode ends on a one-word curse.
Harriet, the boss and the assistant
Harriet is the name you hear throughout the opening pair. Her boss is called sir by his assistant and gets no name of his own. The assistant stays unnamed too, and a handful of colleagues fill the gossip scenes, with one of them addressed as Vic. All of them are AI-made adults.
The jealousy the opening pair plants
The rivalry is already set. The assistant's dinner plan stalls the moment Harriet walks in. In episode 2 a voice at the desks keeps insisting the boss wouldn't, which tells you how much someone fears the opposite. From here the premise has the boss fall hard for Harriet and the assistant do anything to break them up. Where that leads is for the paid Candy Shorts episodes.
Chaste for free, 12 tokens after
My grade is 4 of 5: the paid run goes much further than the free pair does, with explicit scenes in the lead. Before that, episodes 1 and 2 stay chaste on Candy Shorts, with flirting, swearing and the suggestion of what could be happening behind a door. How I grade explicitness explains the levels.
Under the Boss is free for Harriet's first day: episode 1 without a login, episode 2 with a free Candy.ai account. The last three episodes are billed at 12 tokens apiece, and the episode map on this page shows where a month of Premium lands. What a free account gets you is covered in my guide.
Clock in or clock out: is this triangle for you?
Take it if workplace rivalry and London-flavored banter are your thing, and if you like a story where the third person in the triangle does the scheming. Look elsewhere if you want one pairing and no interference. Other Candy Shorts workplace stories include My Billionaire Boss, Her Stepmom Is the Boss and Under the Chief, whose lead is also named Harriet.
